Programs at The Center for Autism Education

O’Fallon Location
Building 1
ED/Asperger’s Program
Students in the ED/Asperger’s Program are working toward a transition back to the public school setting with support from The Center for Autism Education. Students age 6-21 start at The Center for a period of time to complete a Functional Behavior Assessment and stabilize behaviors. A comprehensive plan of training and support is then be implemented to educate the child with their peers in the public schools.

Career Prep Program
Students in the Career Prep Program are working on academics and towards competitive or supportive employment. Students age 6-15 work on skills related to reading, math, written language, applied academics and behavior intervention.

Functional Skill Building Program
Students in the Functional Skill Building Program focus on ABA and Functional Life Skills. Students age 6-21 work on skills that include general knowledge, intensive language intervention, community based instruction, activities of dialy living and vocational skills. These students are preparing for a transition to our Adult Program.

The Adult and Career Center
St. Peters Location

Adult Day Services (21 years of age and up)
Day Services focuses on independence in all aspects of daily living for individuals age 21 and older. Vocational skills and building peer relationships are also addressed. Day Services provides community integration by participating in leisure activities such as swimming, going to the library, bowling, eating at restaurants, going to movies and making small purchases. 

Career Center
The Career Center is for School Age Children ages 16 to 21 to prepare for work after graduation. These students have stabilized their behaviors and have shown specific skills related to employment. The Career Center trains children in the areas of Office Work, Grocery Stores, Hotels and Hospitality, Custodial and Cleaning, Pet Care, Recycling, Restaurants, Retail, Landscaping and Nurseries, and Warehouse Stocking and Packaging.
